Plum Fool

1 pound plums
1/4-1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/3 cup whipping cream

Quick Chicken Pot Pie

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of pepper
2 1/2 cup chicken broth
2 cup diced, cooked chicken
2 cup mixed vegetables

Fried Apple Slices

3-4 apples
Sugar
2-3 tbsp. butter
Wash and core apples. Then cut into slices whichever way you prefer them, crosswise is a good way about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. Dip apple slices into sugar. Heat fry pan, melt the butter and add slices. Brown slices on both sides. You do want to cook them until they’re […]

Grilled Tomatoes

6 tomatoes
1 green pepper
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup dried bread crumbs
Butter
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut tomatoes in half (removing stems) and place in baking dish. Cut rounds of green pepper on top. Sprinkle with sugar and dried bread crumbs alternately. Add dot of butter in center. Bake 1 hour. Serves 6

2 lb. red potatoes, quartered
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing
1/4 cup chicken broth
2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder

2 tablespoons currants
2 teaspoons sugar
4 tablespoons lard

2oz caster/superfine sugar
1 egg, separated
2oz flaked almonds, chopped

1/4 stick butter
1 lb beef chuck steak, cut into cubes
1 lg sweet onion, sliced thinly
1 cup beef stock
1 pint guiness stout
4 medium potatoes, peeled
2 large carrots, chopped
1/4 tsp each of salt, pepper, tyme, sage, parsley, bay leaf

rough puff pastry
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
half an organic egg
1 tablespoon cake crumbs
2 tablespoons mixed peel
4 tablespoons currants
a little allspice
a little extra sugar
