About
Well my dears, my own children are grown men and women now, although they will always be my babies of course. I don’t very often get to do the kind of baking I used to when I had a house full of mouths to feed. My boys always brought a bunch of friends home after school. I can’t count the number of kids I have had here around my kitchen table snacking on fresh baked cookies still warm from the oven.
My baked apple tart and custard was a big favourite . My oldest son used to love pouring evaporated milk over it. He still likes it that way. My youngest preferred to top it with a dollop of ice cream and have a bowl of custard on the side. Myself, I like it with a slice of good English cheddar cheese. Plain and delicious.
Over the years I have accumulated hundreds of recipes. Some were passed on to me by my mother, some are traditional English foods I have experimented with. Some are recipes picked up through the years. The bottom line is if my family liked it I added the recipe to my cookbook and continued to make it. I would like to share some of those recipes here with you.
If you have any of your own you would like to add to this page do feel free to e-mail them in and I will try and post the recipes here. I am sure your families love your cooking just as mine loves mine. After all, there’s nothing like Mums cooking is there? Now I cook for my grandsons. They say there’s nothing like Grandma’s cooking. I enjoy baking for them, and hope you enjoy this recipe page.
