Sussex Lardy Johns

4 tablespoons flour
a little baking powder
2 tablespoons currants
2 teaspoons sugar
4 tablespoons lard

Rub all the ingredients together and make into stiff dough with a little water.

Roll out thinly and cut into squares.

Bake for 10 minutes in a hot oven 220oc/425of/gas mark 7 until golden brown.
